Venus Optics Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5x Ultra Macro Lens for Leica L
The Venus Optics Laowa 25mm f/2.8 is a compact ultra macro lens with Leica L mount, engineered specifically for extreme close-ups. With variable 2.5x to 5x magnification, it is tailored for capturing miniature subjects such as insects, plants, and intricate object details.
Optical Design and Imaging Performance
The optical system features 8 elements arranged in 6 groups, including an ultra-low dispersion glass element to minimize chromatic aberration. This construction delivers high image sharpness and faithful color rendition. The f/2.8 to f/16 aperture range paired with a relatively short focal length provides manageable depth of field.
Build and Handling
The lens barrel is crafted entirely from metal. Operating via manual focus, the lens is dedicated exclusively to macro photography. An optionally available mount equipped with an integrated 38 mm Arca-Swiss plate allows rapid mounting to compatible tripod heads.
